Calgary
is in Alberta and it’s the largest city of Alberta. It is commonly
known for the annual Calgary Stampede. The city has so many things to
offer for tourists. It is a one-of-a-kind experience to travel in
Calgary and here are the things they offer for travellers.
The Calgary Stampede
The
Calgary Stampede is most famous annual event in Canada; it is a 10 day
affair with a exhibition, rodeo, and it’s a big celebration held in July
every summer. They are claiming that Calagary Stampede is the Greatest Outdoor Show in the world. More than a
million guests each year joins the event. The event has all sorts of
things like a parade, concerts, shows etc. It is one of the main tourist
attraction of the city and one of the largest events in Canada. Calgary
is nicknamed as Stampede City or the Cowtown. When the 10 day affair
starts, almost everything you will see in cowboy themed during the
festive.
Visit the Calgary Zoo
It
is a home for more than 1,000 animals. The breeds of animals came from
all over the world. While in the zoo there are also Prehistoric Park,
Dorothy Harvie Gardens, ENMAX Conservatory and a lot more to visit. The
zoo also features a Canadian Wilds Exhibit, wherein you will see
Canada’s native animals. They also feature different kinds of reservoir
where you will be amazed by the recreation.
Have a tour at the Aero Space Museum of Calgary
The
Aero Space Museum is situated at the Calgary International Airport. It
features over 58 aeronautical engines and 24 aircrafts. Some came from
the Air Museum of Canada, the first museum but
eventually closed in 1971.It was founded in 1975 by aviation devotee and
pilots form the World War II. You will also see here the memorial put
up to give tribute to Alberta Airmen who died in World War II.
It is very resourceful open attraction to visit and its near distance from the airport makes it accessible as a first destination for travellers.
The Calgary Tower
The
Calgary Tower stands at 1,228 meters above sea level and it’s the
highest observation deck in the world giving you a 360° view. It has the
best panoramic view of almost the whole city. While having a view from
the 360 degrees observatory deck tourists can eat at Sky 360, a rotating
restaurant with 155 meters high. Another restaurant is available if you
are not up for the rotating challenge; it’s the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse
that offers great food.
The Rundle Ruins Park
Rundle
Ruins Park is situated near to the Elbow River of Calgary. Its main
attractions are the sun dial in the park and sandstone hospital
remnants. Although similarly they resemble ancient ruins, they are just
the remnants of Calgary’s first hospital constructed in 1895. In 1973,
parts of the hospital were knocked down and some were included as part
of Victoria Park attraction site. The park can be used as a setting for
events. It’s a great place to unwind and enjoy the landscape.
